Creative Drama for Your Organisation

I offer freelance consultancy to organisations that want to use drama creatively, especially with people with special educational needs, learning disabilities and mental health needs. With over 35 years across the NHS, charities, schools, colleges and universities, I can support one-off sessions, training programmes and larger partnership projects.

Since 1988 I have worked with dozens of organisations, including NHS trusts, Dudley, Birmingham, Walsall and Sandwell councils, the Universities of Derby, Warwick, Coventry, Wolverhampton and Birmingham, the Midlands Arts Centre, youth theatres and mental health and learning disability charities. I have also delivered training and conference workshops in Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Romania, Ireland, Slovenia, the Netherlands and the USA.

I’m prepared to consider any project that interests or challenges me, so if in doubt, do get in touch.

Neuro-Dramatic-Play Training

I am an NDP Practitioner and Trainer with Neuro-Dramatic-Play Ltd, working alongside its founder, Dr Sue Jennings. NDP is an attachment-based approach built on sensory, messy, rhythmic and dramatic play, especially suited to children who have experienced trauma or neglect.

NDP supports bonding and attachment, security, confidence, communication, empathy, resilience and creativity. My own NDP research includes work in a junior school, storytelling with underfives, and NDP with older people and people living with dementia.

Neuro-Dramatic-Play Ltd runs a live online NDP Diploma, shorter online courses and training designed for individual organisations.

Current Projects

Alongside my university teaching and private practice, here is some of the work I am involved in now:

  • Research into NDP with people with young onset dementia, with the Universities of Derby and Northampton
  • Tutor on the NDP Diploma with Neuro-Dramatic-Play Ltd
  • Chair of Open Stage Drama
  • Freelance consultant Dramatherapist with Creative Solutions Therapy
